Walter Perez

Walter Perez began dancing Tango in his hometown of Buenos Aires in 1993. He has trained with Tango Maestros: J.C.Copes, Graciela Gonzalez and Pupy Castello, Pepito Avellaneda, Efrain Ordonez, Jose Garofalo, Rodolfo Dinzel, Osvaldo Sotto and Lorena Hermosida.

He has performed in Argentina with several dance companies, Neotango, Los Tangueros, De Refilon and participated on television variety shows, Susana Gimenez, Video Match, Las Tres Marias. During 1999 and 2000 he was touring in Argentina and Uruguay with the show Tangou, Director: Anibal Pachano.

In 2000 Walter moved to New York, where he currently teaches and performs. New York Theatre Credits : All that Tango; Red; Tango and Flamenco Fusion; The Trip; Let’s Speak Tango; Tango First Century; Spotlight on Tango, Tango Connections, Recuerdo Tango.

In 2010 Walter creates, together with Leonardo Sardella, “Malevaje Tango” teaching and performing around the world. www.malevajetango.com

Since 2013, Walter Perez becomes Executive Director of Friends of Argentine Tango, a nonprofit organization. www.friendsofargentinetango.org


Leonardo Sardella

Leonardo Sardella started dancing tango professionally in his hometown of Buenos Aires. He has trained with renowned tango instructors and has performed on the best stages in Argentina with several dance companies. Leonardo moved to New York City in 2011 when he co-founded Malevaje with Walter Perez. He currently teaches and performs at Dardo Galletto Studios in the heart of Times Square in New York City.

Leonardo has participated in the International Tango festivals worldwide and has performed and taught workshops in major cities in the United States and in England, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Dominican Republic , Mexico, Bolivia and Argentina. He ranks very high on the list of the most important Argentine tango dancers in the world that are capable of exchanging smoothly and creatively roles of leader and follower.
