Dear Tango friends, it gives me great pleasure to dedicate our Red Carpet Tango Festival 2013 to the Bandoneón Mayor de Buenos Aires: Anibal Troilo.

Anibal Troilo, fervently and faithfully, gave all his life to Tango… and his Tango captivated my heart, as it did the hearts of millions of people around the world.  I would have never imagined that after so many years of sharing the stage in the 1970’s with Maestro Anibal Troilo, in the legendary “Caño 14” (a famous café concert in the heart of Buenos Aires) and nearing the celebration of a century of his birth date, his immediate and distinguished family would give me the opportunity to celebrate his life and his music.

I am honored and I am personally grateful to Mr. Francisco Torné, Anibal Troilo’s grandson, and Mr. Jorge Carcavallo for this exceptionally wonderful opportunity.

I am also thankful to Maestro Horacio Ferrer, celebrated poet and one of Argentina’s national prides, to Mr. Gabriel Soria, Vice-President of La Academia Nacional del Tango, an Argentine organization that is endorsing our festival this year.

My sincere gratitude to Mrs. Marta Rossi, owner of Bien Bohemio, for the memorable evening when presenting me with the prestigious award of “Bien Bohemio” for the production and direction of Red Carpet Tango Festival; honor that I proudly share with the Las Vegas Tango Community.

Sincerely,
Hugo Latorre
